My Late Summer Tune-Up

After another year of loving to cook and post on Sauce and Sensibility, I’ve just started a late summer tune-up.  Meaning, I’m taking a few weeks to get my health in order.  Taking advantage of summer’s bounty of vegetables and fruits, fresh salmon and halibut (and other favorite fish) and a wildly productive herb garden

I am eating clean and lean and frankly, while it’s delicious, it’s not much to write about.  No complicated recipes right now, just chopped herbs, garlic, olive oil, lemons, limes, and fish and meats prepared on the grill or in the oven.  Diced fruits, simple salsas—this is a nice way to take a break, recharge and hopefully lose a few pounds.  I will use a few Sauce and Sensibility summer favorites—remember these?

Prosciutto Wrapped Fish with Garlicky Spinach

Grilled Artichokes with Soy Mayonnaise

Simple Ceviche

Spinach Salad with Lime Soy Vinaigrette

Asparagus Caesar

During these weeks, I thought I’d take the opportunity to write about some other things about food that I like—movies, books, great food writing and beautiful food photography–and share some thoughts about my favorites.

I’ll start with frequent recipes again in about a month—I’m rummaging through the recipe boxes even as I write.  More soon.

I am creating a food and drink related Apple application and would like to use your image of a mint julep. Please let me know if this would be of interest and how you would like to be credited.

    Regards.
